Enhancing IT Health Monitoring for a Billion Dollar Pharma Giant

About the Client:

The client is a global pharmaceutical and biotechnology leader offering transformative healthcare solutions.

Background:

The client operates through various affiliates distributed across different locations. Managing the health of its IT systems and networking hardware across these affiliates is crucial for seamless operations. 

Challenge:

The challenge at hand was to redesign the existing IT health report dashboard to better suit the client’s storytelling requirements. The previous report lacked visual appeal and interactivity, hindering effective communication of IT issues from a global perspective to individual affiliate levels. 

The aim was to create a more engaging and informative dashboard tailored to the preferences of the client’s end-users, including the CEO, CTOs, and Regional Managers.

Solution:

  • Analysis and Identification: We thoroughly examined the current dashboard and data origins to pinpoint design weaknesses and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Design and Wireframing: Using insights from the analysis, we crafted a new dashboard from scratch. Wireframes were created to represent layout and functionalities visually.
  • Client Collaboration: We collaborated closely with the client, integrating end-user preferences into the design process. Feedback sessions were held to fine-tune features and usability.
  • Data Cleaning and Integration: Data from various sources underwent meticulous cleaning. We addressed issues such as discrepancies in location-level mapping to ensure accurate and reliable insights.
  • Extensive Data Transformations: Significant data transformations were undertaken including restructuring and aggregating datasets to boost the efficiency and precision of KPI calculations. 

 

Outcome: 

The redesigned dashboard built on Power BI successfully addressed the challenges faced by the client in conveying the IT health report effectively. Key outcomes include:
